{"id":931,"date":"2019-03-28T08:37:06","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T08:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ruralmuseums.org.uk\/?p=931"},"modified":"2019-03-28T08:37:06","modified_gmt":"2019-03-28T08:37:06","slug":"understanding-rural-networks-freelance-project-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ruralmuseums.org.uk\/?p=931","title":{"rendered":"Understanding Rural Networks &#8211; Freelance project opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Rural Museums Network (RMN) is delighted to have been awarded funding from Arts Council England\u2019s Subject Specialist Network Fund to deliver the \u2018Understanding Rural Networks\u2019 project.<\/p>\n<p>RMN is seeking to engage a freelance worker to help deliver a programme of regional-wide events that help non-specialist curators and general managers of heritage sites looking after rural and agricultural collections to develop, maintain and share expertise associated with these specialist collections, and also to celebrate their contribution to public engagement, education and enjoyment by providing ways of interpreting these collections more effectively through better use of objects and more engaging story-telling.<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, administering and delivering events and activities, have experience of working in the cultural or heritage sector, and should be experienced in evaluating projects and writing reports.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Project Support Worker,\u00a0 Rural Museums Network<\/p>\n<p>Job Type: Contract<\/p>\n<p>Contract Type: Freelance, 20 days (maximum)<\/p>\n<p>Fee: \u00a34,000 (maximum)<\/p>\n<p>Project timeline: April 2019 \u2013 March 2020<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Tasks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>To organise 10 regional events.\u00a0 This will include:\n<ul>\n<li>Booking venues<\/li>\n<li>managing catering arrangements<\/li>\n<li>booking speakers and facilitators<\/li>\n<li>marketing events<\/li>\n<li>administering a travel bursary scheme<\/li>\n<li>ensuring necessary resources are available at venues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>To provide information on where collections, knowledge and expertise can be found.<\/li>\n<li>To produce a draft report on location of collections and collections expertise<\/li>\n<li>To produce a map of where collections are located.<\/li>\n<li>To collect evidence to support final project evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>How to apply <\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit your CV and portfolio to <a href=\"mailto:chris.copp@staffordshire.gov.uk\">chris.copp@staffordshire.gov.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>All applications must be submitted by <strong>9am, Monday 15<sup>th<\/sup> April 2019.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Candidates will be shortlisted and there will be a telephone interview.\u00a0 Criteria for shortlisting will be based on relevant experience, quality and price.<\/li>\n<li>Interviews will take place w\/c\u00a0 15<sup>th<\/sup> April 2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We look forward to hearing from you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Rural Museums Network (RMN) is delighted to have been awarded funding from Arts Council England\u2019s Subject Specialist Network Fund to deliver the \u2018Understanding Rural Networks\u2019 project.
